Imagine this: you hang out in your dormitory, maybe a snowy day, your homework. Maybe your roommate is outside the city. You have not planned club events or courses, and you sit on your bed watching your phone. You are bored with a capital B.

You may not know it, but there are dozens of ways to entertain yourself on campus. From galleries to performance and athletics events, there is no shortage of exhibitions and events to make you laugh, make you think or make you applaud.

Galleries and exhibitions

Vicki Myhren gallery

The Vicki Myhren gallery is the main exhibition place for visual art to Du, organizing a rotating list of student and professional exhibitions each year.

The Vicki Myhren gallery, located at 2121 E. Asbury Ave., is open from Tuesday-Dimanche to 5 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Davis gallery

The Davis Gallery, which is part of the Vicki Myhren gallery, is a space managed by students for community creative projects. Each academic year, two students from DU are selected to coordinate, install and help organize a rotating exhibition calendar.

The Davis gallery, located in the Vicki Myhren gallery at 2121 E. Asbury Ave., is open from Tuesday-dimanche from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Anthropology Museum

The Museum of Anthropology of the du, housing more than 100,000 artifacts and anthropological objects, host of exhibitions organized by teachers, students and community partners. The varied exhibitions on display include the EB Renaud collection, which contains the archaeological collections of Renaud and the notes of excavations in the West mountain and the south of the United States.

The gallery of the Anthropology Museum, located at 2000 E. Asbury Ave in room 146, is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Madden Museum of Art

The curious art lovers will have to venture off campuses to find the Madden Museum of Art, located at 6363 S. Fiddler’s Green Circle in Greenwood Village. The Madden Collection was a 2016 gift to the University of John W. Madden, Jr., developer of the violin green campus, and includes works by artists ranging from Western painters Pioneers Albert Bierstadt and Thomas Moran to American masters Thomas Harton and Robert Rauschenberg.

The Madden Museum of Art is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

University library exhibitions

Each floor of the Anderson Academic Commons hosts a number of different exhibitions that change almost every quarter. These include art installations; shows organized by students; Displays of teacher, students and staff scholarships; and exhibitions organized from special collections and archives and beck archives.

University Libraries Collections and Special Archives

The collections and special archives of the libraries of the include the Dance archiveTHE Beck Archives of Rocky Mountain Jewish History,, Fine press and artists’ books,, Ski story And more.

The collections, located at the lower level of the Anderson Academic Commons, are open to appointments, but it is strongly recommended that visitors make an appointment to see them, because the majority of materials are stored out of site and sometimes require A week to recover.

During the academic year, the reading room is open Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Athletics

Shelters 17 NCAA sports teams: male and female basketball; Male and female golf course; female gymnastics; male hockey; Male and female butt; ski; Male and feminine soccer; swimming and diving for men and women; male and female tennis; triathlon for women; and women’s volleyball.

There are current athletics events all year round, from fall volleyball to hockey in winter and spring. Students can find free tickets for sporting events – which are free for all sports excluding hockey –hereas well as a composite calendar of all sports in here.

Theater

Each quarter, the theater department of DU organizes two productions, collaborating with professional guest artists who bring their expertise and external experience to help students develop in a creative manner.

The shows are presented in the JMAC studios of du, Byron Flexible Theater and Byron Studio. In the spring district, the department organizes the short -term festival, which presents plays in one act carried out by graduate theater majors.

The Newman Center presents

The Newman Center for the Performing Arts is one of the most acclaimed art centers in the country, organizing a rotating distribution of multidisciplinary local and international and international artists.

At the heart of the Newman Center programming is Newman Center presents, a professional artistic series, presenting renowned artists and new voices from the whole world.

Music

Throughout the year, students from the Lamont School of Music, the teachers and guest artists occur on the stages of the Newman Center’s concert and the recital room. As a member of the public, you can select from 300 concerts and events each season with the directories of orchestras, choirs and jazz sets.
