The house is under pressure.
This week, Republican leaders hope that the Chamber would approve the budgetary framework that adopted the Senate this weekend. Nothing less than the legislative agenda of President Donald Trump who depends on it.
But the GOP house had trouble with the votesAlthough President Mike Johnson is determined to do so. A vote in the House on the Senate budget could arrive on Wednesday or whenever the speaker thinks that the proposal has enough support.
We have compiled this short cheating sheet that the Senate bill covers and why this causes disagreements among the Republicans at the Congress.
The basics

Look at the player’s segment above.
So let’s take a look at what is in the plan of the Senate. (Read the 70 -page proposal here.))
- This would put the entire Trump agenda – border security tax and expenditure – in one bill.
- An extension of expired tax reductions. The Senate granted up to 5.3 billions of dollars in tax discounts in the next decade. It would be extend the 2017 tax reductions that Trump signed the law during his first mandate.
- This includes an additional $ 500 million For border security, migrants’ detention and national defense.
- This budgetary framework would increase national debt by 5 billions of dollars. Nation debt now amounts to 36 billions of dollars And keep climbing.
Here is where the Senate plan takes unconventional turns.
- The Senate plan provides for a minimum of $ 4 billion in discounts of spending on the Senate committees. This is a relatively low number and would not force much decrease that conservatives want.
- At the same time, He orders the chamber committees to find 2 billions of dollars in cuts, the amount that the house was initially adopted. Which includes $ 880 billion in cuts of the Committee of the House Supervising Medicaid.
- So what’s going on here? It is essentially a boot of political clearance.
- If this budgetary resolution adopts the Chamber, the two chambers should write actual legislation in tax reductions and the agenda. The amount of real cuts would then be determined.
- The two chambers controlled by the Republicans will have to compromise. But the Republicans of the Chamber fear that the Senate has an advantage in this negotiation – and ultimately the version of the Senate, with much more red ink, will prevail.
Will it pass the house?
- Unclear. My report is that there are even more than a dozen unhappy Republicans.
- Trump had a message to all selected during a fundraising Tuesday: “Close your eyes and arrive.”
- It could still go easily a few ways. The Senate’s plan could spend the room in the next two days, meet at a conference or meet in the limbo before a Obviously two weeks For Easter and Passover.
- This last option seems the least likely Because there is real pressure to respond to constituents of recess.
What is clear is that the Republicans do not yet have the votes. Trump will try to reverse the steam, but at this distance, it is not clear how, or when, it ends.
