As hospitals and health systems – and the millions of dedicated people who work within them – continue their steadfast mission of providing accessible, affordable quality care to all who need it, it is more important that never align on a clear path forward that allows us to provide the care that so many individuals, families and communities depend on.
This week, at the start of a new year and with a new political wind blowing in the nation’s capital, the AHA released our Strategic plan 2025-2027designed to help you solve today’s biggest problems and propel us toward a future where all individuals reach their highest health potential.
More than 1,000 hospital and health system leaders, including members of the AHA’s regional policy councils, committees, state, regional and metropolitan hospital associations, and other groups key members, provided input and helped shape the plan.
The plan is anchored in four core disciplines – advocacy and representation, thought leadership, knowledge exchange and change agents – which define the AHA’s approach to delivering value to members and advancing the shared goals of our domain.
It includes nine principles that serve as the foundation for what we believe the healthcare ecosystem should be and strategies to help us advance our mission to advance health in America.
Furthermore, on the Web page you will find a number of resources offered by the AHA to assist members with their key strategic planning efforts, including the Environmental scan, Workforce Analytics And FutureScan.
American health care has dedicated hospital and health system leaders, clinicians, and care teams who strive to advance our field. But they also know that there is always new knowledge to learn, new boundaries to explore, and new ways to improve patient care.
Some of the best opportunities to share these strategies and learnings from leaders across the country come at the AHA’s flagship conferences. These include the 2025 AHA Conference on Rural Health Care Leadership (February 23-26, San Antonio); AHA Annual Membership Meeting 2025 (May 4-6, Washington, DC); Accelerating Health Equity Conference (May 19-22, Atlanta); And AHA Leadership Summit 2025 (July 20-22, Nashville).
While we know that our health care system faces a number of significant challenges, we also know that we have many opportunities to build a healthier future for our patients and our communities. The AHA is proud to support our nation’s hospitals and health systems as they provide lifesaving 24/7 care to all patients and lead innovative efforts to advance wellness .
Hospitals and health systems are at the heart of our national health and health care. The AHA is incredibly proud to represent and serve you. We look forward to working together this year and in the future to continue to advance health in America.
