County of Haywood, NC (Wlos) – With a summer trip that is preparing, local leaders send the message that western North Carolina is open and ready for business, despite the persistent impacts of Hurricane Helene.
The regional chambers of commerce said this week “open for business week” and use the slogan to emphasize that mountain destinations are ready for visitors.
Haywood County Tourist’s County Tourist say that the designation coincides with their summer campaign: “Open Roads, Open Skies, Open Haywood”.
“It is incredibly significant for our owners of small businesses when you come and go to their gift shop, or you go to their restaurant, and you buy a meal. It is added,” said Corrina Ruffieux, executive director of Haywood County Tourim Development Authority.
The regional chambers of commerce urge companies to promote more summer trips in the west of North Carolina using the hashtag “WNC Open for Business”.
