Pamela Bileski has repeatedly in the hospital and out of the hospital since she was attacked with a knife three weeks ago.
The mother of five said that on March 21, she received a call from her 18-year-old daughter asking her to come and pick her up in an apartment in the city center. She was there who was lying with friends and a boyfriend from one of them.
“She called me, and she was in another room, and she said,” We are in the living room, and this girl was in the room with this guy, and they tell me and my friend to come in the room with them, “explains Bileski. “And she’s like,” I’m really uncomfortable, can you rush. “”
She said that the boyfriend, a man in his fifties, was trying to give them money and alcohol in exchange for sex.
Bileksi arrived with another person to fill, and they and the daughter of Bileski went to the apartment to face the man. She says that the scene ended with the man picking up a large knife that looked like a meat cleaver.

Bileski ran but said that the man rushed to her and hit her on the shoulder with the weapon. She was able to go out and call 911. She describes difficulties in remaining aware because paramedical paramedics were tense.
“I wanted to pass out, but I knew that if I vanished – I thought I was going to die,” she said. “So, I kept saying to myself:” stay awake “.”
She ended up with a large cut on her right shoulder which needed 24 staples. She was released from the hospital the next day, but the injury has reopened several times since then, requiring more visits to the hospital.
Winnipeg police said they were investigating the incident but has confirmed any details, especially if charges have been brought.
Bileski says that she has still not emotionally treated the incident.
“I even cried until three days later, because of the shock. And when I think about it, it’s like I was doing this moment. I didn’t know if I was going to die in this apartment. And then, my children… ”she said asking me.
Bileski, who is Inuit, wanted to talk about his experience to raise awareness that young indigenous women are often benefited.
“I don’t want to see other young people, or people, go through there – to be enjoyed because they have no money, or they have no family or resources,” she said.
