Life moves quickly for Amber Nemeth, owner of a small Winnipeg company called HayMad and Co.
“We’re going back to L.A. This time we’re going to be in a gift suite for the Golden Globes,” Nemeth said. This is the second time his company has been invited to Hollywood to share its Be Kind collection with celebrities.
The first was a September trip to the Emmy Awards.
She received the invitation to the Globes just days after her return.
“I got an email that the Be Kind movement resonated with so many people we met there – all the guests from the Emmy gift suite, and they invited us back in the Golden Globes gift suite to just keep this movement rolling,” Nemeth said, adding that the whole experience is mind-boggling.

“It’s really crazy, and sometimes really hard to understand, how a small business like ours can get all these amazing opportunities,” she said. “As a small business owner, it’s sometimes hard for us to accept all these accomplishments because we’re always thinking about the next thing.”
But the Winnipegger couldn’t be happier, considering what the Be Kind collection represents.
“This helps promote awareness of mental health, something we all need to take better care of, just like our physical health. It’s something we all have, and I don’t think we should be ashamed to talk about it and do something about it.
A portion of the proceeds from the collection will be donated to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).
“Over the past five years, we have already contributed almost $10,000 to CMHA,” Nemeth said.
Not only are the Golden Globes a good opportunity to continue to spread the word, she said, but they show the world what a small Winnipeg business is capable of.
“It’s really exciting, you know, not just for us as a company, but for Winnipeg as a whole. We’re just super excited to represent a city we love… there too.
She leaves for Los Angeles, once again, on January 1st.
