Whitmer’s approach contrasts strongly with that of other high -level Democratic governors, many of whom are also considered as potential contenders for the presidential appointment in 2028 of the party. But Whitmer faces a more difficult political landscape than leaders like the governor of Illinois JB Pritzker or California Gov. Gavin Newsom As it represents a state with a divided state legislature and it opted for Trump in two of the last three elections.
