The Whitecaps of Vancouver announced the signature of the Mexican striker Daniel Ríos on loan from Chivas during the 2025 season, with an option to make the move permanent in summer.
The 29 -year -old won 84 goals and 15 in 235 senior appearances, more recently totaling seven goals and three assists in 32 MLS matches when he was loaned to Atlanta United.
“Daniel is an experienced attacker and a tested scorer in our league,” said Axel Schuster, director of the Whitecaps FC Sporting.
“He will bring additional leadership to the group, a strong work ethics and a natural physical presence. We are delighted to welcome Daniel and his family to our club.”
The Whitecaps launch their 2025 mLS campaign against Cascadia Rivals Portland on Sunday.
