THE University of Toronto And Harvard University Let us say that they have reached an agreement to allow certain international students to return during the new school year to continue their studies north of the border, if they are unable to study in the United States due to visa or entry restrictions.
The announcement comes as questions remain as to whether Trump’s efforts to prevent foreign students from entering the United States to attend Harvard.
Last Monday, a federal judge blocked another attempt from the administration to keep international students outside, saying that “in efforts to control a renowned university establishment” threatened freedom of expression.
The decision effectively preserves the ability of foreign students to go to the United States to study at Harvard while the case is decided.
Under the emergency agreement established between the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy and the Harvard Kennedy School – his public policy school – the return of international students will be able to finish their diploma by following a mixture of online courses and in person taught by the Harvard Kennedy School and the Faculty of the University of Toronto.
“If the international students of the Harvard Kennedy School are unable to finish their studies in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the Mongk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy is anxious to provide shared academic and parascolar experiences for the students of the two schools,” said Janice Stein, founder of the Munk School.

The partnership with the Munk School is only for the return of international students, notes Harvard.

The American establishment says that students will be registered as full -time and not degree special students from the Munk school and will obtain their master’s degree from the Harvard Kennedy school at the end.
“This program preserves academic continuity and the HKS experience community of the Mongk school campus in Toronto,” said Harvard Kennedy School in its announcement.
Harvard students will also be able to access the “extracurricular activities” and participate in student life at the University of Toronto.
The University of Toronto says in its own announcement that the participation of Harvard students in this program “would not reduce the number of spaces available for students of the T” in academic programs or university housing.
Tuition fees and costs will be paid to Harvard, which the school will then use to cover the associated costs of the Munk school.
The establishment based in the United States has also announced that newly admitted students and return to Kennedy School could study at Harvard thanks to a new “HKS Global” program, which will see a mixture of online courses by the Harvard faculty and up to three “fences” in person in cities around the world during the academic year.
Covenants, or assemblies, “will offer intensive and carrier sessions” taught by teachers, while students will also have the possibility of participating in parascolary activities.
“With these emergency plans in place, HKS will be able to continue to provide world -class public class education to all our students, even if they cannot go to our campus this year,” said the dean of Harvard Kennedy, Jeremy Weinstein, in a press release.
New and return international students are invited to complete an investigation to “provide information on your interest in these programs” using their Harvard connection identification information. The school says that it will reach the information directly.
While the attempt to ban Trump’s foreign students is interrupted, the administration has decided to revoke the visas of international students, those who study under the F-1 and J-1 visas.
The Canadians have so far been able to escape some of them because the visas are not required to study in the United States, but those of Harvard are in a different situation.
The school has about 686 Canadians registered in 2022, although the exact figures linked to the Harvard Kennedy School are not known.
