The count is 30 Basketball teams of the Wpial boys who will participate in events sponsored by the Pittsburgh Basketball Club this weekend.
On Saturday, the PBC will host its annual classic renowned temple with five games in North Hills and four in Ambridge.
Here is the calendar of each site:
In North Hills:
• Northgate vs Avonworth at noon
• South Fayette vs March at 1:30 p.m.
• Baldwin in North Hills at 3 p.m.
• Beautiful Vernon against Knoch at 4.30 p.m.
• Aliquippa against Penn Hills at 6 p.m.
In Ambridge:
• Washington against Hopewell at noon
• Beaver falls in Ambridge at 1:30 p.m.
• Carlynton against Ellwood City at 3 p.m.
• Lincoln Park vs Quaker Valley at 4:30 p.m.
On Sunday, PBC Classic played four games at North Allegheny and two at Rize Sports Complex in Leetsdale.
In North Algheny:
• ALLDERDICE vs Chartiers Valley at noon
• Canon-McMillan in North Algheny at 1:30 p.m.
• VS Pine-Richland Montour at 3 p.m.
• Bethel Park vs. Moon at 4:30 p.m.
At Rize Sports Complex:
• Highlands vs Central Valley at noon
• Sto-Rox V. Sewickley Academy at 1:30 p.m.
Shootout in Greensburg
Another two-day weekend event is the Seton Hill shooting and includes basketball teams for boys and girls who converge in Greensburg.
Here is the Saturday calendar:
• Bishop Guilfoyle against Norwin in a girl’s match at 6 p.m.
• McKeesport against Greensburg Central Catholic in a match for girls at 7:30 p.m.
• Ligonier Valley against Greensburg Salem in a boys’ competition at 9 p.m.
The Sunday list is made up of five boys’ games:
• Geibel Catholic against Mt. Pleasant at 1:30 p.m.
• Eden Christian Academy against McKeesport at 3 p.m.
• Armstrong vs Burrell at 4:30 p.m.
• Derry against Jeannette at 6 p.m.
• Belle Vernon against Greensburg Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday makeup artist
While most matches on Saturday are non-sections clashes sponsored by the event, the extremely cold weather earlier this week forced some reports with four boys and three women’s games scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
On the side of the boys:
• Section 2-6a has Imani Christian Visit Norwin at 12:30 p.m.
• Article 4-5a to West Allegheny which welcomes Blackhawk at noon.
• Section 4-2A has a southern trip to Rochester at 1:30 p.m.
In girls’ hoops:
• The 2-3A section has the best shaded shadow academy that strikes the road to face South Allegheny at 1 p.m.
• Section 2-A has a key game when Clairton houses Serra Catholic at noon
In section 5A, there is a section of boys of double -headed girls while Indiana visits the Kiski region with girls who go at noon and boys next at 1:30 p.m.
Ice Stars
The annual Hockey Stars of the Pihl Hockey Stars are scheduled for Sunday at RMU Island Sports Center on the island of Neville.
There are five games this season.
The Division 2 game is scheduled for noon, followed by two games in class A of stars at 1:50 p.m. and 3:40 p.m.
The 2A class all-star game is at 5.30 p.m. and the day ends with the 3A stars striking the ice around 7:20 p.m.
