Four years ago, the first two -star heads of the class 5A WPIAL baseball support saved a lot of difficult obstacles to meet in what has become one of the most memorable district title matches.
The match opposed the n ° 1 Regional Franklin to the n ° 2 Bethel Park.
The teams entered the confrontation with a combined record of 36-4.
The pitch match was Brian Pirone for the Panthers and Eric Chalus for the Black Hawks.
A goalless tie was broken at the bottom of the fourth round when Timmy Quinn for Franklin Regional doubled and then scored on an error.
He stayed 1-0 to the top of the seventh round when Bethel Park equaled him on a single Zach Sackett Pinch-Hit which placed David Kessler.
But the joy of the Black Hawks did not last long.
At the bottom of the seventh, Luke Treloar started with a simple and with two withdrawals, marked the gold race on a double by Andrew Muraco to win it for the Panthers, 2-1.
It was the third district crown for Franklin Regional and the first in 20 years.
Now, these teams are ready for the revenge match on Wednesday in a first round of class 5A WPIAL at the Boyce-Mayview complex in Upper St. Clair at 7 p.m. with Audio on Trib HSSN.
N ° 4 Bethel Park won the title of section 2-5A this spring with a global record of 16-4.
The Black Hawks won eight consecutive games since it fell into the canton of Peters on April 16.
N ° 13 Franklin Regional finished in fourth place in section 1-5A with a global record of 10-8.
Panthers go back in return before the playoffs, after losing their last five games.

Diamond anniversary
Ten years ago, the Knoch baseball team celebrated its first and so far the only Wpial baseball championship.

N ° 8 KNOCH prepares to fight the N ° 9 Ambridge in a class 4A eliminatory match Wednesday in North Allegheny at 4 p.m.
The knights were stable this spring, winning and losing no more than three following games to finish the regular season at 10-10, linking Greensburg Salem for second place behind the Indians in section 3-4A.
The Bridgers won three consecutive games in mid-April and were tied for first place in section 1-4A before the team lost its last five games of the regular season to meet in fourth place with a global record of 8-10.
The winner advances in the quarterfinals to face the Indiana seeded.
Here are the three other first -round games in class 4A:
• N ° 5 Belle Vernon (14-6) will face No. 12 Derry (6-7) in Norwin at 2 p.m., the winner passes to beaks n ° 4 in the quarterfinals.
• The n ° 7 Central Valley (10-10) faces the n ° 10 of Greensburg Salem (8-6) in Seneca Valley at 6 p.m., the winner facing the n ° 2 West Mifflin in the second round.

The Knights have won two of their last three games after losing four games in a row and entered the match with a 9-11 record.
During their two regular season meetings, North Allegheny beat Norwin twice, winning 8-2 at home and 3-2 on the road.
The defending champion Seneca Valley awaits the winner in the Final Four 6a.
In the second match, the teams that equaled equally for fourth place come up against when Pine-Richland faces Canon-McMillan at 4 p.m. with audio on Trib Hssn.
The Rams have divided their last eight games of the regular season to finish 13-7 in total.
The Big Macs have won four of their last five games to finish the season with a 12-8 file.
Canon-McMillan won the two games against Pine-Richland, winning 7-6 at home and winning an 8-4 victory on the road.
The winner will take HEMPFIELD from seeded in the semi-finals.
Champions of the sections shock
The four champions in the WPIAL 5A WPIAL Softball won the first round to qualify for the quarter -finals.
Two of them will go head to head for a place in the Final Four 5A.
West Allegheny won the title of section 3-5a by finishing two games in front of Chartiers Valley and South Fayette, being with a 14-4 file.
Thomas Jefferson obtained the crown of section 4-5A by bordering Trinity and Baldwin in the ranking by a match and was 13-6 in total.
On Wednesday, Indians No. 3 face Jaguars N ° 6 in West Mifflin at 7 p.m. with audio on Trib HSSN.
West Allegheny won three consecutive Wpial 5A titles between 2017-2019.
Thomas Jefferson is the title champion of the PIAA and needs a victory to qualify for the 2025 eliminatory series.
Here are the three other softball competitions in the second 5A round:
• Penn-Trafford with the seeded (18-2), fresh out of a 5-3 victory against Moon in the first round, will face n ° 9 Chartiers Valley (12-6), a 2-1 winner on Plum. The game will be on the same site of its victories in the first round, West Mifflin at 5 p.m.
• N ° 4 North Hills (16-4), fresh out of a triumph of 4-3 on Baldwin in the first round, faces the chapel of Renard n ° 12 (13-6), a winner 4-0 on Franklin Regional, in North Algheny at 3 p.m., the Indians beat the foxes twice this season, 10-2 and 6-2.
• N ° 2 Shaler (15-4), a big winner on Connellsville in the opening of the playoffs, 8-0, should fight the N ° 10 Trinity (12-9), which beat South Fayette in the first round, 7-0.
