Canyon, Texas – West Texas A & M University Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice Awarded more than $ 85,000 on the scholarships during a recent end -of -year celebration.

In addition, the ministry also recognized its exceptional students for the academic year 2024-2025:

  • Political science: Casen Lucas, a Senior of Wolfforth; and David Ortega, a Sunray senior;
  • Emergency management administration: Joel Chapa, McAllen’s December graduate; and Camden Allen, a senior from Lantana;
  • Criminal justice: Havana Todd, a Lubbock person; And
  • Master in Public Administration: Andy Kraus, a graduate student from Amarillo.

“Casen, David, Joel, Camden, Havana and Andy have distinguished themselves as exceptional students for many semesters, and it was a privilege to have them in our classrooms,” said Dr. Reed Welch, professor of American politics and head of the American department. “We also have many other exceptional students and, thanks to our donors, we are able to grant these students scholarships which contribute to facilitate the cost of higher education and also recognize their academic results.”

Scholarship winners include:

  • John Ward public administration grant: Kelsi Baczek, an adult in senior emergency management administration from San Antonio; Aaron Bertolino, an adult in Houston senior emergency management administration; Joey Clement, a major in administration of the management of the junior emergencies of Amarillo; Brandon Martinez, a major in Harlingen’s main emergency management administration; David I. Ramirez, major in administration of senior emergency management in San Antonio; Ryland Ruffner, an adult in senior emergency management administration of Pittsburg; Brian Sayles, a major in the main emergency management administration of Corpus Christi; Michelle Schwake, an adult in administration of the management of junior emergencies of Milano; And Benjamin Smith, a major in senior emergency management administration from Lubbock;
  • Endowment funds Jesse and Grace Osborn: Tayler Marie Guerra, a principal major in criminal justice of Pampa; David I. Ramirez, major in administration of senior emergency management in San Antonio; And Michelle Schwake, an adult in administration of the management of junior emergencies of Milano.
  • Judge Marvin Jones’ scholarship: Alfredo Aleman, student graduated in public administration of El Paso; Elijah Anderson, a major junior in political science of Amarillo; Garickyn Bigham, a second year student in Political Science in Amherst; Lucero Curampa, an adult in first -year political science of Canyon; Jennifer Ellis, a second year student in Political Science of Amarillo; Benjamin Kogo, a major junior in political science of Amarillo; Micala Lusk, a major junior in Dumas political science; And Michael Ondrunch, student graduated in public administration of Sealy;
  • Travis McBride Political Science Stock Exchange: Everett Anderson, a major junior in political science of Amarillo; Michael Burden, student graduated in public administration of Abilene; Ubaldo Campa, a main major in political science of Amarillo; Chelsey Cline, a graduate student in Lubbock public administration; Andy Kraus, a graduate student in public administration of Amarillo; Nicholas Shaffer, a second year student in Political Science from Amarillo; Grace Shelton, student graduate in public administration of San Angelo; Alison Sweeney, a main major in Houston political science; and Natalee Vidana, a second year student in Muleshoe political science;
  • Max & Gene Alice Sherman public affairs grant: Everett Anderson, a major junior in political science of Amarillo; and Marly Kate Fortner, a major major in criminal justice from Lubbock;
  • Public service and administration grant Debra McCartt: Emily Liskal, a major junior in political science of Toledo, Ohio;
  • Lasater / Looney Political Science Exchange: Emily Liskal, a major junior in political science of Toledo, Ohio;
  • Walter L. Shelly Political Science: Kaizer Mahaffee, a main adult in political science of Amarillo;
  • Claudia D. Stravato Women in Government Scholarship Fund: Alison Sweeney, a main major in Houston political science;
  • Brent T. Lynch Criminal Justice: Kay Trent-Pierce, a principal major in criminal justice from Austin;
  • Captain’s scholarship Ed Foster Law Enforcement: Tayler Marie Guerra, a principal major in criminal justice of Pampa;
  • Scholarship of the Criminal Justice Management Program: Kameshia Jewell Johnson, student in criminal justice of Amarillo;

Mike Dunn commemorative purse: Samuel Konnor Fraser, major of the superior criminal justice of Temecula, California; Shyanne Nikole Jones, an adult in superior criminal justice of Farwell; Megan Irene Littlejohn, a major junior junior in criminal justice from Clovis, New Mexico; and Noah T. Wolff, a second major in criminal courts of Pampa;
  • Criminal Justice Stagy of the Year Stock Exchange: Shyanne Nikole Jones, an adult in superior criminal justice of Farwell;
  • Dr. James V. Calvi Stock Exchange: Alan Alcantar, a major junior of the criminal justice of Sunray;
  • Retirement teachers’ scholarship: Gillian M. Burris, an adult junior in criminal justice of Amarillo; And Avery Tereese Wilkins, a major junior in criminal justice from Amarillo.

The Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice is one of the WT Terry B. Rogers College of Education and Social Sciences.
