Cedar Rapids, Iowa – The American Rivers Conference (ARC) concluded its calendar of the regular season of 2024-25. For the 21st consecutive year, Wartburg won the Arc All-Sports championship trophy, which recognizes the best global conference program. This is equivalent every year to the existence of the price, which started in 2002-03, not to mention 2019-20 and 2020-2021 due to COVID-19 and the cancellation of the seasons.
The Knights also won the Marjorie Giles women’s championship trophy for the 19th time in school history and the All-Sports Elmer Hertel championship for the 26th time.
This marks the 14th time that Wartburg claimed the “triple crown” of the conference.
The arrival of each school in each sport is determined and taking into account a numerical value by reversing the finish (that is to say the first place is worth nine points, second place is worth eight points, third place is worth seven points, etc.). In the event of links, the value of all the places involved is totalized and divided by the number of teams in this equality. The arrival of each school in all sports is then totalized, and the school with the greatest number of points must receive the trophy of the respective championship. The trophy of all women’s sport Marjorie Giles, awarded for the first time in 1982-1983 (at the time appointed the trophy of the female sports championship), is presented each year to the member of the conference which accumulates the most points in female sports. The Elmer Hertel All-Sports trophy was awarded for the first time in 1970-71 (at the time appointed the trophy of the male sports championship) and presented to the member of the conference which accumulates the most points in male sports. The school displaying global excellence in male and women’s sports is rewarded for the trophy of the All-Sports championship of the Conference of American Rivers.
