Please join Stanford Reglab and the Niskanen Center on Wednesday July 2, 2025, at 12:00 pm for a virtual discussion exploring how technology and institutional design can make government more effective.
A recent collaboration with the Office of the Prosecutor of the City of San Francisco used the AI to analyze the municipal code and the municipal regulations of 16 million words from San Francisco and identify the requirements of obsolete or duplicate declaration – resulting in a legislative proposal to eliminate or consolidate 36% of reports. The initiative offers a powerful example of how technology, associated with an intelligent institutional conception, can modernize the government, reduce charges and release the capacity of what matters most.
