The organizers organized a vigil on Monday evening in support of a Berkeley business owner which has been targeted several times by vandals.
In the latest incident, Negeene Mosaed said that someone labeled his business with anti-Islamic graffiti, coinciding with the first night of the sacred month of Ramadan.
Mosaed on Monday evening, joined the Berkeley network for Palestine when they organized a vigil and a discussion to oppose hatred.
Mosaed said that his Berkeley city center’s physical therapy clinic welcomes everyone. But four recent cases of vandalism have caused his heart to flow.
She thanked the community for gathering in support, but added that the city must do more.
The Muslim Civil Rights organization or the “Cair” said that since October 2023, they have seen an upward trend in anti-Muslim incidents reported across the country.
