Friends and family identified the 10 -year -old boy killed in a tragic Speed boats collision in North Vancouver on Saturday.
In an online fundraisingFamily friends identified the boy as Lionel, the son of a local fashion designer and a business and financing entrepreneur, who would have celebrated his 11th anniversary next month.
“Lionel was pure joy and lively light for all those who knew him, an intelligent, sweet and incredibly talented athlete,” said fundraising.

The young victim is survived by two brothers and sisters, a sister who will enter the high school next year and a brother who is about to graduate.
“Children are devastated by the loss of their younger brother. (Their father) reminds them that they must all live a big life for Lionel,” added fundraising.

The police said that the collision occurred around 6.30 p.m. on June 7. Witnesses reported that a speed boat struck two children who were towed in an inner tube in Burrard Inlet off Cates Park.
Lionel was killed. The other child was transported to hospital in critical condition.
The North Vancouver RCMP examines whether speed and alcohol were factors in the collision.
The driver of the speed boat was placed in police custody and was then released with conditions.
