CARLSBAD, California., December 18, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Viasat, Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT), a global leader in satellite communications, today announced that it has completed the sale of its energy services systems (IS) integration business to US private investment firm MAG Capital Partners. No further details of the transaction have been announced.

Although the IS business is a dynamic, standalone operation, it has minimal strategic synergies with our core growth activities.

SI, which was included in Viasat’s 2021 acquisition of RigNet, provides engineering design, procurement services, shop assembly, factory acceptance testing and “day 2” support for telecommunications systems installed on critical infrastructure projects. Around 80 employees currently engaged in the IS business will be transferred to the new company, Nessco. The deal includes the sale of the company’s IS facilities to Aberdeen, Scotland. No locations are expected to close as a result of the sale. Imperial Capital, LLC served as exclusive financial advisor to Viasat in connection with the sale of the IS business.
