THE Vancouver cannucks answered the question of knowing who will replace the head coach Rick Tocchet.
The club announced Wednesday that assistant coach Adam Fote had been used to play the role of Top Bench Boss.

“Adam is a strong leader, a good teacher and a person who knows what it takes to build a great culture and win an attitude,” said the Director General of Canucks, Patrik Allvin, in a statement.
“His past experiences on the ice have resulted in a style of coaching that corresponds to the objectives and the vision of our organization. He has worked extremely hard in recent years, there is respect and confidence of our players for his strong communication and his simple honest opinion. ”

The Canucks hired Foote for the assistant role in January 2023, a position which saw him direct the club’s defense core.
He would be well appreciated by the team captain and star defender Quinn Hughes.
Fote played 19 seasons as a defender in the NHL, welcoming the Stanley Cup twice with the Avalanche du Colorado in 1996 and 2001.

He began his coach career with this same club in 2011-2012 with a job as a development consultant and defensive coach. He directed the Kelowna Rockets as a chief coach for two seasons before coming to the Canucks.
The Canucks have announced that Tocchet, the outgoing head coach of Jack Adams, would not return next year at the end of April after the two parties were unable to agree on a contract extension.
Tocchet led the team to a championship in the Pacific division and match 7 of the second round of the playoffs during the 2023-2024 season, but could not reproduce success this year while the team faced injuries and internal divisions.
Despite many speculations on the place where he will go, Tocchet has not yet concluded an agreement with a new club.
