Manassas, VA, March 11, 2025 – UVA Community Health, part of UVA health and comprising three medical centers, an integrated network of medical practices, cancer care and ambulatory services through Culpeper and northern Virginia, launched an open call for submissions of community subsidies for 2025. Applicants must apply online by Thursday, April 10.
The subsidy requests are open to non -profit organizations recorded in article 501 (C) (3) of the Internal Internal Code, which serve the UVA health communities and align with our mission. Individual scholarships start at $ 2,500. Last year, UVA Community Health granted $ 265,000 to local organizations whose work directly improves access to care to community members who need it most.
This year, UVA Community Health offers two different types of subsidies to skilled candidates:
- Healthy sparks subsidies are intended for organizations which focus on the needs described in the assessment of community health needs (AHNA), as well as the social determinants of health, which are the non-medical factors that influence the health and well-being of a person, such as economic stability, access to health care, healthy lifestyle and access to healthy foods and physical activity opportunities.
- Highty subsidies of the community are larger subsidies offered to the organizations with which UVA Community Health have been teamed up for more than two years, focusing on the needs described in our Arhn, as well as important identified health needs, such as mental health, behavioral health, chronic diseases and access to care.
Additional details and information is available for candidates on the electronic application page.
“Uva Community Health undertakes to restore the communities that we serve. One of the ways we do is to associate organizations that support the important health needs highlighted in the latest assessment of community health needs. By working to respond to these health problems, we grant subsidies to support local non -profit organizations, “explains Erik Shannon, chief executive officer of UVA Community Health. “We strive to establish long -standing relationships with local organizations; Last year, we participated in more than 180 events in the region. By collaborating with local non-profit organizations, we extend our impact beyond the walls of the hospital to improve the health results of the communities that we serve. »»
