Come this 2025 season, the Texas High School football teams will be able to use a form of game technology that coaches can send games to players.
According to A Texasfootball.com reportThe University Scholastic League (UIL) approved portable call technology for the next 2025 high school football season.
The Texas association underlined in an email sent to sports directors and coaches that, although this portable technology has been approved, it is not for the communication of the helmet of a player-player but of a device similar to a bracelet.
“Communication coach-player will be authorized through unidirectional portable technologies in the football matches for the 2025 season, with significant restrictions,” email sent to sports directors, football coaches according to the report. “Once again, this is not the communication of the player-player helmet, but using bracelet technology to communicate with your athletes.”
According to the report, the new bracelet -shaped communication is unique in a sense because of the following ways of the way it will be used:
• Portable bracelet technology can only be used so that coaches can communicate with players for the game in the game
• Communication from coaches to players can only come from the coaching stand or the press box
• Communication from coaches to players is only done by text messaging without authorized audio
• New technology is a one-way coach-playing communication bracelet system of the player
The flight of signs of the coaches was a concern at the Uil 2024 high school football championships to the point that people were withdrawn from the matches.
“There were people kidnapped in the matches of the State championship for having stolen signs,” said Joe Martin, Executive Director of the Texas High School Coaches Association, at Tyler Morning Telegraph. “Our coaches are really categorical to be able to have access to it, and some will use it and some will not.”
A Texas High School football coach via a report said that his team could use the new technology, but are not safe because it would have been necessary during the current football period.
“It is possible that we can use it, but I don’t know how much,” said Coppel head coach Antonio Wiley Tyler Morning Telegraph. “The things we do, mainly with training, I think it would be more difficult for us to come back to this in this short period of time without having used it to Spring Ball. I think it is an advantage for guys who are worried about their signals and offensive training and plays during the game.”
Gorout du Minnesota, a company that produces portable communication similar to a bracelet, published a statement a few weeks ago concerning the UIL’s decision to approve technology for the 2025 season.
“The Liberty League trial has created a precedent with regard to the innovative ways that the coaches communicate with the players,” said Gorout’s partnership officer Drew Robinson A press release via the company’s website. “We are delighted that Texas coaches recognize the value of portable devices and understand that this is where the game is heading. Texas opens the way in innovation in football, and we expect it to establish a precedent for teams and leagues at all levels. ”
