The University of Hawaii In Mānoa, launched two new higher level programs to prepare students and professionals for high demand careers in artificial intelligence (IA) and data science:
The two programs offer flexible formats to meet the needs of professionals and students Uh System.

Both programs are administered through Uh Mānoa Awareness college and taught by teachers in the Ics department hosted in Uh Mānoa Natural Sciences College.

Certificate of graduate in applied computer science: artificial intelligence and data science track
THE Gcert is the first of the state and is designed for students from non-riming sciences. The 15 credits certificate is offered in an online format, can be completed in one year and offers students of students and career focused on IA and data science skills. The courses emphasize the applications of the real world, including local case studies that deal HawaiiUnique challenges in health care, environmental sciences, digital marketing and cybersecurity.
THE Gcert is open to anyone holding a baccalaureate and professionals who work to increase or move to technological roles. Students who excel in the Gcert The program can apply to the new PMC diploma, with applicable credits transferred during admission. Be eligible for the GcertApplicants must demonstrate a fundamental programming experience in a main modern programming language such as Python or Java. Students should have completed an introductory programming course in Python or Java in a two or four -year -old college or university, or have at least three years of work or project experience that reflects skills in Python or Java.
Professional Master in Computer Science: Artificial Intelligence and Data Science track
Professional mastery in IT is based on the certificate of graduate in applied IT foundation and offers a deeper dive in IA and data science. Designed for those who have computer training or those who have completed the Gcert With solid academic performance, the two years PMC offers advanced technical training and the possibility of creating a competitive portfolio. The hybrid and flexible design of the program supports students who balance careers and other commitments. Applications for the two programs are now open, the first classes starting in the fall of 2025. The deadline for request is August 1, 2025.
