Monks, Iowa – Iowa policy has seen a domino of decisions that will reshape some of the most high -end positions in elected functions. Some movements have already occurred, while others will always follow.

The governor of Iowa, Kim Reynolds, the first woman in the State to occupy the post after having mounted the Lieutenant -Governor after Terry Brantad resigned from his post as governor to become an American ambassador to China – ended his re -election campaign for 2026. Reynolds, a republican, has held the post since 2017.

The American representative Randy Feenstra, a Republican of Hull who represents the 4th district of the Congress of Iowa since 2021, then followed the announcement of Reynolds with one of his: he trained an exploratory committee to present himself to the post of governor in 2026.

These two major decisions have led another: Chris McGowan, who has directed the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce since 2011, announced that he would present himself for the headquarters of the Congress, Feenstra is currently holding.

McGowan became the first Republican to officially declare his campaign, although several others have considered a race.

Senator of the Lynn Evans state, a Republican from Auerelia, trained an exploratory committee for the siege of the 4th district, but he has not yet officially announced a campaign.

The head of the majority of the room, Matt Windschitl, a Missouri valley republican, also discussed a possible campaign for the position.

Ryan Melton, a Democrat in Nevada, previously announced his candidacy for the position, the third consecutive election where he launched a campaign. However, Melton recently revealed that he had lost his job in the insurance sector and that he was also dealing with health matters and suspended his campaign.
