Blauvelt
The Ohio Southeast Economic Development (Ohiose) announced two people, Gloria Blauvelt and Brian Hill, join the program.
Blauvelt joins the Ohiose commercial development team. In this role, Blauvelt will represent Ohiose and Jobsohio in commercial development efforts to robbed the region of 25 counties robustly to attract new investments in capital and the creation of jobs.
Working in partnership with Ohiose Leadership and the Jobsohio commercial development team, Blavelt will direct proactive awareness of business development, lead generation and strategic marketing of the sites.
“I am delighted to participate in this new role in commercial development after having served in several capacities at Ohiose, from the management of the development of the site to carry out high impact projects in our region,” said Blavelt. “This experience gave me a 360 -degree view of what it takes to establish sustainable partnerships and stimulate investments. While I take the task of attracting new businesses in the southeast of Ohio, I am confident in the strength of our region, our ready sites and our new speculative buildings to local partnerships that make the success possible. ”
Blavelt was project manager for regional economic development in Adams, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross, Scioto and Vinton. She has been with the organization since 2022 and will continue to serve as a project manager in addition to her new responsibilities.

Hill
Before joining Ohiose, Blauvelt worked in the development of leadership and policies’ development sector as well as in the local government of the center of Texas, leading initiatives to improve the quality of life of residents. Born in Mexico, she devoted her career to improving the results of life for the communities she lives and serves, including the Southeast of Ohio, which she now calls at home. She holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Texas-Pan American and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Texas-Arlington.
Hill joins the Ohiose team as director of engagement and partnerships.
Hill succeeds Ed Loopoman, who retired last August after decades of service in economic development in southeast of Ohio.
Hill will join Destiny Bryson in the Ohiose engagement team. Together, they will collaborate with local economic development organizations, elected officials and partner entities in the region of 25 Ohiose counties. Their work will focus on strengthening relationships, promoting regional awareness and support for job creation projects through technical assistance, education, research and financing resources.
“I have devoted my career to help Eastern Ohio to develop, and I am delighted to concentrate this experience on the progress of economic development in the region now,” said Hill. “I can’t wait to work with our communities and our partners to rely on local forces and help advance the region.”
Hill provides more than 40 years of experience in the public service, business leadership and agriculture. More recently, he was Managing Director / CEO of Guernsey-Muskinmum Electric Cooperative, where he focused on operational excellence, the commitment of stakeholders and political advocacy.
His public service career includes conditions of senator from the Ohio State (20th district) and a state representative (97th district), where he chaired the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee and was actively involved in energy, public and environmental services. He began his public service career as a commissioner of the county of Muskingum.
A graduate of Ohio State University, Hill is a recipient of several honors, including the Friend of Agriculture Prize at Ohio Farm Bureau, the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association Beef Industry Service Award and several legislative recognitions of the year. In addition to his public service, he spent 20 years as a field representative at Adm Alliance Nutrition and continues to manage family hill farms, to raise butcher’s cattle and cultures.
