President Mike Johnson and his management team take a major bet on Friday while they spread with a key committee vote which – at the start of this meeting – seemed to lack the support necessary to succeed.

The fate of the vote was not yet clear even if the alignment of the GOP of the Chamber’s Budget Committee entered the Capitol for the Meeting, with republican legislators and senior aids that were tightened to find out if the management had concluded agreements with the conservatives who – 12 hours earlier – produced the bill.

The budget committee will meet on Friday to assemble the elements of the components of the sweeping taxation and the expense reductions charge a single legislative package. The panel is not empowered to bring substantial policy changes at its meeting, but the bill must be advanced outside the committee to go to a full vote.

Johnson and his team worked all evening to win four retained conservatives – Ralph Norman representatives, Chip Roy, Josh Brecheen and Andrew Clyde – who had threatened Trump’s politics in committee earlier, according to several Republicans familiar with discussions. The four Republicans wanted to rewrite parties of the invoice to save more money, in particular by accelerating the deployment of Medicaid’s work requirements and the repeal of clean energy tax credits which were promulgated under the Biden administration.

The Committee meeting to advance the Trump agenda became dramatic early Friday morning after Roy, Norman, Brecheen and Clyde left the room where the members have summoned. The members ignored the questions of the journalists by leaving, then huddled together in the office of Roy.

“We are all very disappointed with progress or lack. I have finished with smoke and mirrors. We had a mathematical problem,” Norman told journalists by returning to Reunion. He doesn’t say if he was willing to vote no and reserved Trump’s measure.

“I think they should be recreated,” said Roy, ignoring the questions about how he would vote.

The chief representative of the chamber budget, Jodey Arrington, cannot afford to lose two votes of the GOP during his committee vote. If he fails to erase the committee, it would point out major problems for Johnson and almost certainly delay the full voting of the room on Trump’s megabill, which should occur next week.

Asset Published on social truth Friday, “we do not need” marshals “during the republican party. Stop talking and do it! ”

“The Republicans must unite behind:” The one, Big Beautiful Bill! “” He said.

Roy – One of the many selected by President Mike Johnson on President Donald Trump‘S Megabill – sent a clear signal to the leaders of the GOP before this vote of the Committee that he was not yet there. Roy poster On X an external analysis of the impact of the bill of the bill with legend: “Why there is a problem”, a few minutes before the start of the meeting.

Roy would not answer Friday morning when he asked if he would vote to advance the bill, rather raising the eyebrows when entering the room.

Another of the selected, Brecheen, ignored the questions of a journalist when he arrived on Friday morning.

In a sign of the severity of the vote, the leaders of the GOP pushed to ensure that the representative Brandon Gill, whose wife has just had her second child, returns to Washington on Friday morning for the vote. Thursday, two GOP sources told CNN that Gill would not be present – which would have meant that the leaders of the Chamber could lose only one vote.
