In the French language election Debate Wednesday evening, the four main leaders of the Federal Party were invited to express the political priorities that have nothing with the United States.
But the conversation quickly turned to the elephant in the room – Donald Trump – And how the leaders would take care of the American president.
The leaders began the debate by coming out of how to respond to the trade war with the United States and to present themselves as the best to negotiate with Trump.
Hairyvre said that on his first day of power, he would open negotiations with Trump on an agreement ended at the prices.
“We cannot control Trump. So, at the same time, we have to control what we can,” said Hairyvre.
“This means to reverse the liberal economic policies that have weakened our country, unlock (natural) resources, reduce taxes, provide jobs here to face Trump with force.”
Liberal chief Mark Carney said Canada must plan the worst case and have a strategy to build a stronger economy.
“These are the elements that will work with Trump. He respects strength, he respects people who know how the world and the private sector work,” said Carney.
“Canada must create other options, new international business partners, and that’s what I promise.”

The chief of the Bloc Québécois, Yves-François Blanchet, said that Canada must line up with the countries which are affected by the American prices and “negotiate rationally”.

“Trump will hang himself with his own cord because his measures are extremely toxic to the American economy,” he said. “In the meantime, he will also create damage everywhere.”
The NDP chief Jagmeet Singh said that Canada had to prioritize what matters most and invest rather than reduce.
“Like our agriculture, our culture, our French language; does not sacrifice it,” said Singh.
“A deep value for us is to take care of each other. How we do this to strengthen our health system, not on amaniserize. ”

We also asked the party leaders which American products they had cut in their daily life.
All the other party leaders have excavated in Carney saying that they do not buy us strawberries. In a recent interview with a Quebec talk show, when asked if he still buys us strawberries, Carney said he does not buy his own grocery products.
“More wine, more American alcohol,” said Carney.
“I make my own grocery stores and I cook myself. So a lot of fruit,” said Singh.
“It’s a delicious conversation,” said Hairy, adding that he buys Canadian beef.
Earlier in the debate, Carney cited its promises to double housing, while Hairyvre has promised to reduce income taxes and TPS on new houses.
Blanchet said Quebec should have the right to manage its own economy, using its own natural resources. Singh has prioritized health care, noting the efforts of his party to ensure dental and pharmacar programs under the previous government.
The first of the two debates in the election is structured around five key subjects: the cost of living, energy and climate, trade war, identity and sovereignty, and immigration and foreign affairs.
The Green Party was withdrawn from the debate earlier Wednesday after presenting candidates in less than 70% of the constituencies.
