In overtime, Anthony Davis hit a jumper with 42 seconds left for a 132-129 lead. But two Jalen Johnson free throws cut the margin to one point, leading to Young’s 3 victory. Johnson finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.
Davis nearly matched James with 38 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Dalton Knecht added 14, while the two Gabe Vincent And Rui Hachimura scored 12 points.
Next up for the Lakers is a return home for a game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. The Hawks host the Denver Nuggetsalso Sunday.
