Independent filmmaker Vijay M. Rajan needs extras for the film “Dark Soul River”, a psychological thriller shot in the county of Champaign in March.
This is an allocation of a day in Rantoul, where the administration offices of the village leisure service will be transformed into a prison. Rajan hopes that 12 to 20 extras serve as demonstrators of the death penalty in a scene, then up to eight others to participate in a mourning condemnation session.
The advantages include your name in credits, Grub and – if you are a member of the Actors Screen guild – a payroll check. In addition, “they will be able to see each other on the big screen,” said Rajan. If you are interested, send an email to Rajan to Darksoulriverfilm@gmail.comAnd include “I will be a supplement!” in the object line.
This is not the first time that the village – which houses survivor’s cinema studios – has opened its doors to the film industry.
“This is second nature for us,” said leisure director Luke Humphrey, whose staff will adapt when “Dark Soul River” uses his offices. “We are going to move to another building space or work remotely. If there is something COVIR has taught us, it is because we could work remotely. »»
Humphrey, originally from Rantoul, said that the growing village relationship with filmmakers “is cool to see”, adding “We have not yet encountered a person in person. Maybe one of these days.
