Pulaski County, Virginia named Tim Miller as director of Newly established Sports Tourism and Entertainment Authority.
Miller was previously director of sales and marketing for Global ASM in Richmond, Virginia. Prior to that, he was Director of Operations for RPM Events Group, LLC and Vice President of Operations for the National Cycling League. Miller will oversee the county’s sports tourism and entertainment assets and venues, as well as planning, developing and implementing strategies for sports tourism throughout the community.
“From the very first visit I made to Pulaski County, I felt like something special was happening here,” Miller said. “The commitment and support of the Board of Supervisors, STEA and county leadership, combined with existing facilities, future plans and natural assets, make this an ideal location for sports tourism and entertainment programs for the benefit of local citizens and visitors.”
Virginia ranks 10th in the nation for sports visitor spending, driven primarily by attracting youth, amateur and college events and tournaments. Sports tourism currently accounts for eight percent of all visitor spending in Virginia.
