Washington – Today, Representative Mike Thompson (CA-04) applauded the Biden-Harris administration for his record-breaking work to expand health care coverage for Americans.
“A record 24 million Americans have signed up for health care coverage through the Affordable Care Act since November,” said Thompson. “More people have health insurance today than ever before in our nation’s history. Thanks to the leadership of President Biden and Vice President Harris, the number of Americans receiving health care coverage through the ACA has nearly doubled over the past four years.
“I remain committed to building on this progress, starting with extending the ACA premium tax credit this year and extending my legislation providing telehealth access to Medicare beneficiaries. The extension of the tax credit is particularly crucial. If Congress does not extend it, 28,000 residents in our district will pay an average of $1,279 more in annual premiums.
