Regarding real estate It’s okay, it’s not much to look at.
At $110,000, it’s only 162 square feet, underground and gets no natural light. It’s a dull gray and has no bedroom, bathroom, or kitchen.
Of course, it’s not a house or even an apartment, it’s a detached house parking place – but one in a prime location.
Located in Whistler Areas, Parking Lot #106 is just steps from the base of the Blackcomb Gondola in British Columbia’s best-known ski resort.
Dave Brown, a real estate agent with Whistler Real Estate, said the high price of the parking space reflects the “convenience factor.”
“You never have to worry about parking in Whistler, you pull over, drive into the lot and park in your secure parking spot,” he said.

“You don’t have kids losing you or upsetting your husband or wife because you’re going in circles because the parking lot was full.”
Although many skiers and riders Global News spoke with agreed the price was steep, most weren’t surprised either.
“It’s a capitalist world. Supply and demand. Whistler is the hot spot, it’s the place to be, home of the 2010 Olympics and the 2025 Invictus Games,” said snowboarder Brandon Smith.
“I think what we really need in the Sea-to-Sky corridor is another ski resort, maybe halfway between Vancouver and Whistler.”
Incredibly, at north of $100,000, the asking price for this parking spot isn’t even close to the record.
That honor goes to a parking space at the Pan Pacific Mountainside Hotel in Whistler Village, which sold for about $195,000 in 2021, Brown said.
But he said he expects that space to retain its value, with growing demand and fewer and fewer public parking spaces available, making it increasingly difficult to find a place where leave your vehicle on the ski slopes.
“It’s getting harder and harder to find a parking space, and for people who have discretionary income to buy something like this, the convenience factor is very important to them,” he said.
