Two seniors from the University of Binghamton Management school (SOM) were appointed among the best first cycle commercial majors in the country in 2025 by Poets and quantsA leading publication for news from commercial education.
Adam Bandler, a major business administration with concentrations in information systems on finance and management, and Chad Burks, a major business administration with concentrations in information systems and management marketing, were selected from 100 corporate majors that have had the greatest impact on their programs and personified the best of their cohorts.
For 10 years, the list of the most brilliant Best & Bright poets Honoré the majors of senior companies whose names are taken from schools that have made the ranking of the 50 first pupils of poets & quants. Each business school has chosen candidates using its own criteria, although poets and quants have encouraged schools to consider academic excellence and the pupil’s extracurricular leadership.

In addition to his involvement in the voluntary ambulance team of Harpur ferry students in Binghamton, Bandler also sat on the Som Dean mentoring program and acted as an analyst and mentor of the Binghamton Investment Fund and as a peers advisor for the SOM Subcycle.
After graduating, Bandler will join Citibank as an analyst of investment banks in the media and telecommunications group.
Zurack, an associate professor of finance and economy, Cihan Uzmanoglu congratulated Bandler’s work ethics, integrity and joyful personality, especially when they follow the fixed income course of Uzmanoglu, which he described as undoubtedly the most difficult undergraduate course at Som.
“Although he was able to take a course” Easy-A “, Adam took up the challenge. He pushed himself hard, worked with diligence and, finally, succeeded,” said Uzmanoglu. “These qualities of Adam demonstrate his strong commitment to learning.”
Burks Assured many mentoring roles within SOM, especially as a program mentor with Pwc Scholars and the program of transformational leaders. He also held 10 management positions in areas such as Sor Career Services (as a career assistant) and the management consulting group (as main advisor). His advice to future business students is to challenge you to find experiences which, in your opinion, could be outside your “comfort zone”.
“The construction and culture of relationships over time are just as important, if not more, as the technical aspects of the company”, ” Burks said to Poets & Quants in its nomination form. “Employers want candidates who are capable of a technical point of view in their field. More importantly, they want someone with whom they can be connected effectively and work daily. ”
After graduating, Burks will join Pwc in Boston as part of their risk consultation and regulatory practice, in particular in the team of business technology solutions.

Som was classified among the Top 10 public business schools By poets & quants for four consecutive years, and for the 2025 ranking, he also made a significant jump in career results. This classification boost indicated how to focus on skills development and networking have become essential to improve student experience.
