Although Roku has hundreds of applications to download, I find myself severity daily towards a handful. These eight applications offer so much entertainment that you will rarely look for content elsewhere.

PBS children
PBS Kids has been a must for me for 10 years. My two children fell in love, mainly for shows like Wild Kratts, the Daniel Tiger and Sesame Street district, but also for games.
When I got my Roku Express, it was one of the first applications I installed. It is much easier for my youngest son and I to catch up on the cartoons on the big screen than to sneak with a tiny tablet.

Amazon Prime
Although Amazon Prime has good original content – breaking down, good omens, secret level – I like to use it to rent movies, apart from streaming. There are so many films there, Prime is my way of finding shows or films that I do not also find on other platforms. Of course, having Amazon Prime also means that I benefit from offers when I make purchases.

Plex
If there is a Roku application that I cannot live, it is the plex application. Since I started running my own plex server, I had the pleasure of installing it on as many devices as possible. It’s just compatible with so many devices, how could I not? He releases the need to use my console, which I refrain from using for streaming, and I can move my Roku Express anywhere in the house. My whole media library fits into the palm of my hand – movies, shows, music, you call it.

Spotify
Although I prefer Have my own musicI don’t have all the CDs I want, and I use Spotify to fill the gap. Go understand, right? And as I have a decent sound bar for my TV, as opposed to dedicated speakers, I can block myself (and annoy everyone in my house) while I clean. In addition, Spotify has many books and podcasts to listen to, like my favorite Radio Startalk.

Netflix
Netflix constantly throws the original content, such as the fall of the house of Usher, Castlevania, Maniac and Midnight Mass is only a handful of shows which were a joy to catch up and Why I continue to pay for Netflix. Then there are the many crime documentaries and children’s programs.

From all the streaming services I subscribe, I come back the most to Netflix. It’s super easy to find something to look at, and new content is added all the time. In addition, the user interface is really clean and the most user -friendly to use on Roku.

Pluto TV
I have not paid the cable for years, and I am happy not to do it because many streaming applications have free channels. Pluto TV is my favorite among them, or as I like to call it in the house, my Hell’s Kitchen application.
There is a lot to love about Pluto TV – a solid library of films, classic television programs, some news channels, and it’s completely free. It is a nice mixture of live and pre -recorded content. Advertisements can sometimes be boring, but I’m good enough to zon them.

Crunchyroll
Second after Netflix, I receive many hours of Crunchyroll, since it is the largest anime library. Where will I watch Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Dragon Ball (from the original to Daima) and Yu Yu Hakusho for the umpteenth time on the same platform?

He also has good original series, like Blade Runner: Black Lotus, although the biggest advantage is simultaneous episodes. Whenever a new episode is broadcast, I can usually catch it shortly after. Sometimes it’s as early as an hour after.

Tic
Twitch is the first application to watch game content. If I want to watch my favorite streamer, I don’t do it from my desk (I already spread out enough time) or from a small screen. I like to see the details, so it’s much more comfortable to connect to the big screen.

Eight Roku applications are everything you need to create a constant entertainment flow that satisfies all my desires, needs and interests. Most of them are also free. I would say it’s a hell of a good deal.
