It is an exciting period in the entertainment industry and attractions at the moment. Here in Orlando, in Florida, we have a headquarters at the forefront for a historic moment in the world of themed park – the great opening of Universal epic universe.
Never before has the guests have been so completely and completely immersed in the competition, not only thanks to 3D driving technology, animatronics, live action emissions and the built environment, but also auxiliary services, including catering, retail, characters, etc. Really, Universal considered all the details.
The theme entertainment competition takes a positive challenge
While thematic entertainment projects open, competition also increases. But it is a reason for celebration, no dismay. As our imagination takes us more and more, our tools and our skills develop to respond to this vision, and the benefits of the following project have acquired information.
We hear other clients of entertainment in the center of Florida than the accomplishment of Universal inspires them to “intensify their game” and to challenge themselves and their sellers in a positive way. It is a invigorating reminder that we can never stop repelling the limits to create experience -oriented experiences.

Really, the rising tide raises all the ships. This presents an incredible opportunity for all of us in the entertainment services industry. It also opens the way to the creation of new businesses and services. I firmly believe that there is room in the game for all of us.
With 60 years in business and over 30 years in the entertainment industry, my BRPH team has had the privilege of working on some of the most incredible projects in the world of attractions. Over the years, some key principles have always struck.
Here are my tips to those who want to take advantage of the richness of the opportunities we are seized:
Excellent work requires a passionate team
It seems common sense, but no one is invested in the success of a project than those who have a personal attachment to history. When hiring or attributing roles to your next project, keep this in mind. They will always take up the challenge when it is personal for them.
Customer experience is essential
As an architects and engineers, we live this philosophy every day, in all the industries that we work, but it is particularly important in the Entertainment and hospitality worlds. We must take careful care to consider not only what customers see but also What they don’t see.
It is not enough to give life to magic; We must also make sure that the illusion is never broken by podiums, lighting equipment, maintenance zones or other infrastructure behind the scenes. “Good enough” has no place – a commitment to continuous improvement is imperative.
It’s a marathon, not a sprint
Entertainment is an evolution, and superb stories take the time to materialize. Contrary to what we see in the films, the magic is not made overnight.
When you deal with long -term and low -budget projects, you need a solid project management team and a solid value management plan to manage costs, calendar and risks, both for the solvency of your own business and for the good of the customer and the project. The involvement of higher leadership is essential.
Creativity is a prerequisite
It goes without saying that to do what has never been done before, you have to be able to go out of the beaten track. Creativity and technical skills are often considered to be counter-intuitive, but being able to work in gray areas, develop new paths and adapt to the unknown are invaluable skills in the entertainment space.
Agility and flexibility are no exception. They are the rule. Change is not an IS; It is a when.
We have the privilege of being part of this industry and to share its exciting evolution. This includes not only the members of the Orlando office team, but all those who work on entertainment projects in our 10 other American offices.
Congratulations, once again, to the universal team, and applauds a healthy competition and “the next great thing!”
