To celebrate its golden jubilee, TheaterWorks will offer a mixture of classic pieces and a sandwich musical around two contemporary pieces.
The Tony Award’s winning musical “Cabaret”, with director Scott RC Levy, executive director of Green Box and Green Box Arts Festival, launched the 2025-2026 season on September 18.
Oscar Wilde’s farce “The importance of being serious”, with the co-founder of Millibo Art Theater, Birgitta Depree, as Lady Bracknell, will open on November 28. The offers next year are the solo fair “Where we standing”; William Shakespeare’s tragedy “Romeo and Juliet”; And the comic season Ender, “The Garbologists”, about two New York sanitation workers.
“The pieces are large and daring, a mixture of famous, recognizable and canonical works and some less known pieces,” said Max Shulman, the new recently announced artistic director of the Professional Regional Theater Company. “All speak at our cultural moment while sharing all a delicious theatricality.”
Shulman will officially take the new role in July and lead “Romeo and Juliet” next year. He is also a long -standing professor at Colorado University in Colorado Springs Theater and Dance Department.

TheaterWorks 2025-2026 season
• September 18-October. 12: “Cabaret” – The 1966 award -winning Musical Tony Award takes place mainly at the Kit Klub Kit, where singer Sally Bowles meets and develops a rocky relationship with the American writer Tenu Clifford, all put in the canvas of the Razi Party. • November 28-Dec. 21: “the importance of being serious” – Two singles lead a double life and got tangled in their lie in the 1895 comedy by Oscar Wilde. Directed by Kathryn Walsh.
• January 29-February. 15: “where we are” – In the show of a person of Donnetta Lavinia Grays, a man must ask forgiveness from his city after having concluded an agreement with a mysterious unknown in their name. Directed by Marisa Hébert.
• April 9-May 3: “Romeo and Juliet” – The classic tragedy of 1597 by William Shakespeare follows two young lovers of Italian families in quarrel. Directed by Max Shulman.
• June 11-June 28, 2026: “Garbologists” – In the comedy of Lindsay Joelle, two New York sanitation workers spend their first quarters of work together and are looking for a thrown treasure, but quickly develop a more significant relationship. Directed by Gerree Hinshaw.
