York The high school is honored for its computer, engineering and biomedical programs for its students.
The school has been recognized to have more than a quarter of its students registered in the draft course management. The non -profit organization promotes the access, commitment and success of students in their programs, according to a press release from the Yorkville School District 115.
The organization granted “Honor Distinguished High School” in Yorkville High School, one of the 20 schools in the state to receive recognition. The Yorkville high school has now received the distinction six times.
The distinction also congratulates the school’s commitment to increase the diversified representation of students with regard to race, ethnicity, sex and socioeconomic status.
“A special thanks to the teachers of YHS John Alaniz, Brian Erjavec, Kirsten Marczewski, Cara Cummings and Jackie Kinsella for having created an excellent learning experience for students,” the district said in the statement.
