A large and various WVU employees began to plan in -depth planning on the Modernization project for the dayA collaborative and multi -year initiative to rethink and fundamentally rationalize the way WVU does business.
In the coming years, hundreds of key stakeholders from all campuses will work with partners from Huron Consulting Group to transform daily operational processes.
Working dayAn information platform on human, financial and unified students resources, will create an effective and modern experience for employees and students.
The first phase – executed until the summer of 2027 – focuses on the implementation of human capital management and financial commercial processes, with work modules that will replace the card, applause and other systems double.
Once these components have stabilized, the teams will start working on the second phase of the project, which will focus on students’ processes and the information system of workday, which will replace the banner and other related systems .
WVU leaders have long acknowledged that the financial, HR and existing students are ineffective and complex, as well as the business processes that these systems support.
Autonomous technologies have evolved or have been personalized over the decades, which makes systems inflexible and difficult to maintain. The Workday project aims to eliminate these challenges and create a unified and integrated ecosystem that will allow WVU to adapt to changing needs in the future.
Anyone who uses current financial, information and HR management tools of the university will ultimately benefit from the working day.
The advantages include the following elements:
-
The platform will provide a single source of truth for financial data, employees and students so that teachers, staff and administrators trust that the information they need is easily accessible, current and precise.
-
The business processes that are not documented, opaque or confusing will be simplified and standardized.
-
Routine tasks will be managed in the work platform, and automated process stages will invite employees when they have to act in the system. This will release employees to focus on more mission work such as students’ commitment.
-
Employees will have easier access to their information in a platform suitable for mobiles where they can easily see and perform routine commercial tasks.
Mario Barge, vice-president associated with talents and culture and co-chair of the management committee of the day, said that the Workday project would create more efficient and value-based results for WVU.
“An essential element of our advancement is the work of our teams,” he said. “They are allowed to advance us, creating a heritage that transforms our way of working as an institution.”
The teams collaborate, not decisions in the silos, to ensure that future trade processes are simplified, consistent and standardized, said the main partner Vice-President Barbara Weiss, co-chaired by the steering day committee. However, this project will oblige all those of the institution to adopt a “blue sky” state of mind, she said, reinvening the way we work without being inhibited by past practices.
THE Modernization program The team will adopt an inclusive approach to these transformational changes, which will position WVU as an institution of the terrestrial attack of the future.
Consultative and governance committees have been trainedAnd the project team will contact experts in the institution as work progresses. The Workday team undertakes to guarantee that people get the information they need to know when they need it.
