Before the major brand change in 2018, Watersound Club in Inlet Beach, Florida, had less than 800 members. It now has more than 3,400 members, following an expansion project of $ 52 million which led to the creation of its Camp Creek equipment in 2023.
The expansion has added a two-story well-being center and 11,000 square feet and the Creek Inn camp with 75 rooms.
Before the additions of Camp Creek, “well-being was almost nonexistent for members,” said Mark Diedrich of Kuo Diedrich Chi, the architecture and design firm that supervised the project.
“Well-being has probably made the membership or, at least, has added a lot of value to an existing and increasing subscription,” said Diedrich.
Designed to please each demography, Camp Creek includes group exercise rooms, a functional fitness training room and a cardio and force area. The members of the Watersound Club also use a heated swimming pool reserved for adults and hammams and saunas for men and women.
For families, the new Camp Creek region includes a complex style swimming pool with a lazy river and a slide, as well as a zero entrance activity pool and a barbecue catering location. There are also half a basketball half-terrain, grass sports grounds, eight pickytal fields on and eight lit tennis courts.
“This expansion has redefined the way our members engage with the club, because the amenities complete the golf experience of the Watersound Club of World Class,” said Jean Capps, managing director. “Addes have considerably improved the lifestyle component of the membership experience.”
Camp Creek Inn acts as an anchor between the Wellness Center and Central Park, a peaceful central area where members can meet, socialize or simply relax. The inn provided members of “fifth, sixth and seventh rooms when the company comes to town,” said Capps.
Diedrich is particularly enthusiastic about two aspects of the project. First of all, the club has something for all ages, the elderly who are trying to stay in shape or rehabilitate children who just want to have fun in the lazy river or on a slide. Meanwhile, parents also benefit from it, because they have many fitness and well-being options, as well as a place to collect, socialize and have fun while their children are entertained.
“The design of the Wellness Center has created a sophisticated backdrop for the swimming pool complex and an axial anchor for the main public walk between sports equipment and the Creek Inn camp, which overlooks the golf course Camp Creek,” said Diedrich.
CAPPS said that Camp Creek equipment has considerably raised the experience of Watersound Club members.
“We have noticed an immediate effect with an increase of more than 30% of income,” said Capps. “The interest of the members has increased remarkably and existing members are more deeply committed. They do not only consider their club as a golf destination, but as a complete retirement for well-being, social connection and relaxation. ”
