The victim of the Surrey “Brazen” shooting had links with organized crime: Police – British Columbia

The victim of a shooting along the border of Surrey / Delta on Monday evening was identified as Jaskaran Singh Minhas, 29.

The integrated integrated team of the Homicides (IHIT) Investigation team was created by the Homicide Team in the Gangs (IGHT), Minhas was known to the police and have links with organized crime.

“It was a targeted and cheeky shooting in a high traffic area,” said the SGT. Freda Fong d’Ihit said in a statement. “The people involved displayed a complete contempt for public security.”

“This shooting has the characteristics of a targeted homicide and linked to gangs and the Ight will take the lead. We believe that there are at least two suspects involved and the investigators work with diligence to identify all the parties. Investigators are currently questioning witnesses, collect evidence and keep the video. »»

IGHT investigators said that a vehicle burned in Delta which had been discovered shortly after the shooting is the suspicious vehicle involved.

Investigators seek to speak with anyone who was in the region of 7900 Block 120 Street, Surrey and in the district of 64 avenue and Westview Drive, Delta, at the time of events.
