The School of Medicine and Health and Health Sciences of the University of Lynchburg launched Lynchburg Journal of Medical ScienceAn online academic publication designed to promote research, collaboration and innovation in medical and health sciences.
JMS is a review to free access and evaluated by peers that requests the contributions of clinicians, educators and researchers through the medical sciences. He seeks to advance knowledge thanks to the publication of original research, case studies, clinical journals and experts from experts, by promoting collaboration and interdisciplinary dialogue.
The development and launch of the Lynchburg Journal of Medical Science were led by Dr. James Kilgore ʼ22 DMSC and Dr Thomas Colletti. They work alongside a dedicated editorial team to ensure that the newspaper meets high academic standards and serves as an important resource for the medical community.
The Medical Journal is the first launched by a doctorate program in post-professional AP medical sciences.
“The launch of the Lynchburg Journal of Medical Science represents a significant step forward in the commitment of our university and the school towards learned excellence and the dissemination of impactful research.” said Dr. Jenna Rolfs ʼ20 DMSC, dean of the Lynchburg Medicine and Health Sciences.
“We are extremely grateful to Dr Kilgore and Dr Colletti for their dedication and their leadership to make this vision a reality.”
Kilgore underlined the value of the journal, saying: “Our objective was to create a platform dedicated to students and teachers in order to highlight exceptional work within the DMSC program and to extend these publication opportunities to other programs of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
“This newspaper represents an important opportunity to present our collective university efforts.”
The JMS is published quarterly and actively seeks the submissions of various health disciplines, in particular the university doctoral work with associated doctors and other health professionals.
The reviews of the journal are supported by both the DMSC program and the Knight-Capron library of the University.
The inaugural issue of the Lynchburg Journal of Medical Science was put online in March. Researchers interested in submitting articles or accessing published documents may visit the JMS website.
