The regional chamber of Pittsburgh North appointed the president of the University of Slippery Rock Karen Riley, recipient of his prestigious prize for the prestigious business manager on May 8 during their annual awards gala.
The price has recognized Riley as “a member of the room which demonstrates exceptional personal and professional qualities, including honesty, sincerity and integrity, and which made an exceptional contribution to the community”, and its positioning of SRU as a first choice destination for students to learn and employers to recruit talented graduates.
“As a flourishing public institution, SRU responded to the economic and social needs of the surrounding communities that we serve,” said Riley. “This inextricably connects us to the region, its industries and businesses, and especially its inhabitants. We will continue to meet needs thanks to new programs, approaches and partnerships.
“It is really an honor to be recognized among many impressive business leaders in our region, and humbly accept this award on behalf of the University and our large team of teachers and staff who have a positive impact on the community and help make this price possible.”
