Boerne – When Brian Schewe bought his house on the outskirts of Boerne, he needed to find a source of water.
“I saw rainwater, totally. I have no wells because of the cost of the well, and the water is bad. So I went with rainwater,” he said.
The rain is rare, but so far it has harvested enough rainwater to survive.
“It will last about six months without rain,” he said.
It has worked well for him so far. But he wanted to find another source of water since the rain is the new gold in Texas.
It is invested in an atmospheric water generator, a machine that pulls in the air, remove its humidity and transforms it into drinking water
There are many companies that offer this, but after doing research, he went with the brand Aquarium.
Brian and Eric Sheng are co -owners and founders of the company, now based in Texas.
They explained that this technology has existed for a few decades, but they have found a way to make it more accessible to everyday people.
“This is where the Hydropack was born, it is that we have transformed it into something enough affordable, easy to use and very easy to install for everyday people. And I think it is the greatest breakthrough to be able to bring this to this practical factor,” he said.
THE Price ranges depend on the size of the machine.
They explain that the initial purchase and installation are included and that the customer takes care of maintenance, which involves changing the filters sometimes a year.
Schewe says that he decided to save on the cost of drilling a water well, but the machine uses a lot of electricity.
However, he thought that the atmospheric water generator was a better deal for him. His house is also equipped with solar panels.
This legislative session, Governor Greg Abbott, pushes the legislators to reserve money to repair the water infrastructure of the State, flee the pipes and find new sources of water.
