Ontario provincial police said it only took the police only 12 days to catch dozens of people in a recent survey of children’s sexual exploitation.
“These results highlight a reality that gives thought: predators can easily reach children in online spaces,” said the OPP DET. Sgt of staff. Tim Brown said in a statement.
“We urge parents and tutors to remain vigilant and talk to your children to stay safe online. Just as you would not leave your child alone in a city, do not let them sail in the world online alone. ”
Police announced on Thursday that they had arrested 36 men from all over the province as part of a proactive investigation that lasted from March 31 to April 11.

They said the agents have used online chat and social networks infiltration techniques in their efforts to find people who seek children sexually.
The OPP said that while the police pretended to be online children and waited for offenders to contact, they were also able to identify nine victims who are now supporting support and are safe.
The police said that one of the men arrived for a meeting with snacks and sexual accessories (lubricant and condoms) in hand.
The 36 accused are 18 to 73 years old and are from all over the province, as well as that of Abbotsford, British Columbia, with six residing in Toronto and six others in Niagara Falls.
In addition to the 36 arrests, which led to 128 accusations, the police said that 51 other surveys are currently underway.
“We congratulate the exceptional efforts of our members of the provincial strategy of the whole province whose dedication has led to the success of this investigation and to the protection of vulnerable children,” said OPP commissioner Marty Kearns.
“Their tireless work testifies to our unwavering commitment to protect young people from online predators.”
