Prime Minister David Eby introduced the new Lieutenant-Governor of British Columbia, saying that the leadership and dedication of Wendy Cocchia and the dedication to community services give everyone.
Cocchia, a long-standing businesswoman and philanthrope, was sworn in during a ceremony in the buildings of the British Columbia Parliament before an audience of family, friends, Aboriginal leaders, members of the Legislative assembly and other dignitaries.
One of the first acts of Cocchia in his role was to inspect an honorary guard of 50 people provided by the Pacific Maritime Forces and the Eskimalt Canadian Forces.
The Royal Canadian Royal Navy gang played salvation vicérégal, made up of the six opening bars of God to save the king, followed by the four opening bars and four fences of O Canada.
