The governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, launched a rescue buoy at community health clinics through the State this week when he signed two bills.
They provide millions of dollars in additional funding for dozens of primary care and health healthcare clinics.
As CBS Colorado reported, many of these clinics are closing Due in large part to unpaid care.

One of the new laws will provide at least $ 100 million over the next three years for security net suppliers like Salud Family Health, who plans to lose $ 10 million only this year.
The money will come from interests on the non -claimed real estate fiduciary fund, the corresponding federal foundations and dollars.
The other law authorizes non -profit clinics to set up for -profit laboratories that receive higher Medicaid reimbursement rates.
“It is a step in the right direction, and when we speak to our legislators, they know that this does not fill the gap. But that gives us time to work on what we need as a state to fill this gap for the safety net, because I think that it will be more difficult to trust the federal government,” said the CEO of Salud, John Santiste.

He expects the new laws to generate at least $ 4 million a year for his 13 clinics.
But he said that the budget bill that adopted the American house last week could cost $ 5 million to non -profit organization due to changes in Medicaid. Santistevan said that at least a third of Salud patients are on Medicaid.
