The construction of the catering, drinks and entertainment center of $ 14.4 million continues on the site north of the commissioner, and the project should now be completed this fall.
The nearly 11,000 square feet building will host Challenger Bingo and provide a new food service at the north end of the installation.
“Once the building is given in MWR, it will take at least a month before the operation is ready for a large opening,” said Gary Haught, head of the Division of Trade Operations to the Directorate of Family and Morals, Well-being and Leisure.
According to Haught, workers are preparing to put on the roof and continue to dry the building, which includes glass, brick, doors and roof. “After drying the building, they will start turning the air and trying to condition the building to follow the interior finishes.”
During a revolutionary ceremony for the project last year, the former garrison commander, Colonel Brian Cozine, said that the Center is the first MWR MWR funds construction project on Redstone since Redstone Lanes in 2005.
Challenger Bingo is now located in the building 1500 on Weeden Mountain Drive.
The tables of four organized banquet style people in the Bingo Hall can accommodate 328 customers, while the existing room can accommodate 225 people as much as possible, said MWR director last year. The building will have a kitchen, a snack bar and a storage and storage space, and the rendering show an external deposit route with a canopy.
