Raleigh, NC (WTVD) – Varooing rights are at stake in The NCAA tournament This weekend, and there is also a lot of money to win. Basketball fans visiting the triangle should spend up to $ 12 million.
“Whenever we can welcome one is a blessing,” said Scott Dupree, executive director of Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance, referring to the Lenovo Center, who organizes matches in the first and second round of the NCAA male basketball championship.
There are signs as soon as people land at Raleigh-Durham International Airport that the Lenovo Center is the perfect place to watch basketball this weekend.
The men’s teams will play on Friday with matches scheduled at 12:15 p.m. (Baylor VS Mississippi State) and 2:50 p.m. (Duke against TBD) and the night session with games at 6.50 p.m. (Norfolk State against Florida). and 9:25 p.m. (Uconn against Oklahoma).
The female games are spread over the triangle and Duke, NC State and UNC are all in competition and host the regional.
“There is a lot of media threshing in our women’s basketball team,” said NC state student Amanda Pulley.

NC State welcomes the Vermont at the Reynolds Coliseum at 2 p.m. Saturday.
“I think it’s really good to support them,” said Jessica Pracht, NC state student.
Also on the female side, the ACC Duke champion welcomes Lehigh at Cameron Indoor Stadium at 8 p.m. Friday, and the UNC welcomed Oregon State in Carmichael Arena at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Raleigh contributed with other cities to welcome the NCAA male tournament.
“You are really doing good if you can welcome them every three to five years. This is the fifth time that the Lenovo Center has organized the NCAA male tournament since 2004,” said Dupree.
The visitors’ office estimated that 10,000 hotel rooms will be reserved in the city of Oaks for the games.
The westin is next to the airport and almost all the parts are spoken to start on Wednesday.
“You will see a lot of fans, so it will be an exciting period for everyone,” said Leon Cox, managing director of Westin.
The Lenovo Center should again host a male regional in 2028.
