A Winnipeg goalkeeper returned home after an exchange on Thursday.
THE Winnipeg jets announced the acquisition of Chris Driedger of Florida Panthers, in exchange for goalkeeper Kaapo Kahkonen.
Driedger, 30, was assigned to the affiliate of the AHL jets, the Manitoba Moose.
Initially drafted by the Senators of Ottawa in 2012, Driedger’s career in the NHL also took him to Seattle – where he played two games for Kraken in 2023-24 – and two distinct stays in Florida.
However, most of his career was in the AHL with a 105-79-14 record playing for teams such as Binghamton senators (later Belleville), Springfield Thunderbirds and Coachella Valley Firebirds, as well as 20 games with Charlotte verifiers this season.

Kahkonen, 28, was initially acquired by the organization of the jets last summer, but was claimed from derogation by the avalanche of Colorado, before being relocated by the jets in November.
The Finnish goalkeeper was written by Minnesota Wild in 2014 and made appearances with Minnesota, Colorado, Sharks of San Jose and the Devils of New Jersey, for a total of 140 games at the NHL level.
Before coming to North America, Kahkonen played 117 in the Liiga, the best Hockey League in Finland. He has played 22 games this season in a Moose sweater, winning an AA 6-14-0 record.
