San Francisco – The San Francisco nightlife scene is increasing and now gets a boost from the mayor.
The mayor of San Francisco, Daniel Lurie, announced on Friday the creation of five new entertainment areas in the city, in order to revitalize the neighborhoods and the city center with night markets and street fairs that serve restrictions and allow the alcohol containers open in the streets for special events.
What they say:
“I know that these entertainment areas work,” said Mayor Lurie during a ceremony at Pier 39 to sign the legislation. “On Front Street, our first entertainment area, bars experienced sales up to 1,500% during these events.”
“People want to get out and be part of the community, and we will bring that to all San Francisco,” said Lurie. “The expansion of the entertainment area is only part of our plan to create a dynamic San Francisco.”
The city says that there are now 21 entertainment zones in San Francisco which have been appointed or pending.
THE Castro Night Market is among these sites. Companies, restaurants, bars and local sellers say that it is exciting to have the events.
“The community is incredible; family, children, dogs, a lot of food, community,” said Juan Davila, a Night Market seller from Castro.
With Pier 39 and Castro, the new areas include Folsom Street, Yerba Buena Lane, Valencia Street and Ellis Street Downtown by John’s Grill.
“We are going to incorporate the scenes from jazz and arts and height and bring the artists of marquee to really create an incredible experience,” said John’s Grill. What is really important is that we bring people back to San Francisco, in the city center and … have something exciting to go “
Elsewhere in the city:
The night scene also develops in the net of the city. THE 2nd Festival of Music and Tender Arts Takes up during the weekend with concerts in local bars such as the Château d’Edimbourg and a small gathering place called Dodge Alley.
“For us, it is very important to bring together the community to bring together music and art. This festival represents at least 90% of groups are local groups,” said Guillermo Goyri, said the organizer of radio and music from Tendre.
“We want to revitalize the region, and we want to be able to connect with small businesses here. We want to make sure they have pedestrian traffic,” said Cyntia Salavar, community director for the Self -benefit district of the net communitysaid.
The San Francisco supervisor, Bilal Mahmood, which represents the net district, says that there are already discussions on the creation of an entertainment area in the net. Residents also hope that their neighborhood will eventually have an entertainment area.
“I think it is a model for the way we can revitalize it with night markets and street fairs throughout the neighborhood. Because you cannot have public security without joy. And joy helps activate this neighborhood and that is what we are looking to do with more of these activations,” said Mahmood.
