Alexandria, la. (Kalb) – The Laborde Earles Entertainment Center scene, next to the rapids Parish Coliseum, has recently been improved and renovated. The project was funded by the rapid parish police jury.
Rick Reno, director general of rapids Parish Coliseum, shared that the installation had received major improvements, including new toilets, improved electrical systems and improved safety characteristics such as the abolition of fires and alarm systems. These updates were necessary to meet the requirements of the state and improve overall security.

“The whole thing is to improve the quality of life of the community and the surrounding areas,” said Reno. “It is so that people come to see certain types of entertainment in their market size that they would not have to travel elsewhere to see.”
The upgrades made the center more versatile, which allows it to accommodate more concerts and events.
Reno hopes that by offering a variety of activities each weekend, this will help improve the overall quality of life of the community.
For the future, the installation plans to extend its offers. Although it will continue to host events such as firearms, banquets and balls on Tuesday fat, it will also focus on the introduction of more concerts and live entertainment.
“We really hope that over time and that people get used to coming, they will see that it is a quality place for that,” said Reno. “Large sound, great atmosphere and that we can establish another market here.”
The Laborde Earles Entertainment Center is now open and ready to organize concerts and other events. One of the first major performances will be the Marshall Tucker Band, live on March 21.
