An Indian IT company conducts an internal investigation to determine if it was the gateway for cyber attacks on Marks & Spencer, includes BBC News.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has provided M&S services for more than a decade.
Earlier this week, M&S said that the pirates who had brought huge disturbances to the retailer had managed to access their systems via a “third party” – a business that works next to it – rather than access directly to these systems.
M&S and TCS both refused to comment.
The FT, which first reported the storyCited people close to the investigation which said that he hoped that the investigation would be concluded by the end of the month.
It is not clear when TCS launched his investigation.
Customers have not been able to buy items on the M&S website since the end of April.

TCS says that it has more than 607,000 employees around the world and is the main sponsor of three prestigious marathons – New York, London and Sydney.
On his website, TCS said he worked with M&S on Sparks, his customer award program.

There is no indication if the internal probe also looks at the hacking of the cooperative.
TCS also has Easyjet, Nationwide and Jaguar Land Rover among its many customers.
Earlier this week, the director general of M&S, Stuart Machin, said: “In the past few weeks, we have managed a very sophisticated and targeted cyber attack, which led to a limited disturbance period.”
On Wednesday, during a media call, he did not answer the question of whether the company had paid a ransom within the framework of the process.
